KECTIL Youth Leadership Program for Young Leaders 2023 (Fully funded)
The Kectil Program was established to seek out and support young people in developing nations who have the capacity to positively impact their communities and nations.
About the Award
The KECTIL Foundation, also known as the Knowles Educational and Charitable Trust for International Leadership, was founded on the following tenets:
The goal of building an authentic, cooperative network of high potential youth from developing and least developed countries is to improve their lives, the lives of their colleagues, and the lives of people in their communities.
Identification, acceptance, and mentoring of high potential teenagers (17–24) from developing and least developed nations can have a significant impact on the youngsters' aspirations, acts of service to others, and personal successes.
The following program categories are included in Kectil
• Monthly Kectil Talks with Leaders in Science, Business, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Public Service
• Assignments & Sharing: Participate in moderated online group discussions while interacting with other students on social media (Facebook & Twitter).
• Intensive Leadership Training, Workshops on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Meetings with Successful Leaders, and Development of a Network of Young Peers in Developing Countries
• Upkeep of Network of Young Peers in Developing Countries, Communication with New Youth Participants, Access to Program Mentorship.
Eligibility Requirements
Talent is required for participation. Youth (aged 17 to 25) from least developed and developing nations who have shown aptitude and a love for leadership, scholarship, or creativity, are fluent in English, and have access to a computer and the internet are encouraged to apply.
Worth of the Program
• A special award will be granted to fifteen of the Web-based Program's most active participants by the Kectil Program.
• The participants will have attended every session and finished the pre- and post-session online tasks.
• During the first week of August 2023, the Kectil Program will hold a Youth Leadership Conference in Atlanta for a select group of exceptionally talented young people from least developed and developing nations.
• The conference will include intensive leadership training, an innovation and entrepreneurial workshop, community service training, and meetings with successful leaders in a small group interactive setting.
• The Conference will offer Kectil Colleagues who have the highest potential to become future leaders and who come from communities that require passionate and positive youth role models more training than the year-long web-based curriculum.
• The Conference will take place on the Emory University campus. Participants will eat in a cafeteria run by the university dining program and stay in dorm rooms provided by the university.
